Scouting For All Ages at The American Legion

We offer Scouting for ages ranging from Kindergarten to age 18 and are conveniently located in the heart of Festus Missouri at the local American Legion. We provide a safe and supportive environment for kids to learn and grow through scouting activities including STEM events, camping, fishing, group events at local businesses, community service projects, and so much more!. Our leadership has a combined total of more than four decades!

Cub  Scouts

Cub Scouts is for children starting at Kindergarten age thru the middle of their 5th grade year in school.

Scouts BSA

Scouts BSA formerly known as Boy Scouts is for children starting in the middle of their 5th grade year in school through their 18th birthday.

Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can children join?

Cub Scouting is for youth in kindergarten through fifth grade. Youth can join Scouts BSA if they are at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade and register on or after March 1st; OR have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, OR are age 11 but have not reached age 18. 

Do you require any prior scouting experience?

No prior scouting experience is required to join. We welcome kids of all skill levels and backgrounds.

Can girls join too?

Yes! Girls can join, it's not just for boys anymore!
